Molten Flower

Molten Flower

The Pyroflora, or molten flower, is a flower that thrives in temperatures of over 1000°S. It is primarily found on the planet Gi'Dwijan. Its scientific genus is Pyrofloris and several notable species include P. ignitus, P. cladii and P. criciana.

History[]

How long the Molten Flower has persisted in the multiverse is unknown. It is known that they were born of the lava springs on the young planetoid of what would become Gi'Dwijan. However, other lava planets like Thryos and Planet Φܩ12B have differing dates as to the origin of the Pyroflora.

Structure[]

It is unknown if the molten flower is indeed a plant, but studies have shown that the pyroflora indeed undergoes photosynthesis and draw nutrients from its roots, simply that it does so at an extremely high temperature. All species of Pyrofloris have proteins and other essential components of life that simply do not denature when exposed to temperatures less than that of something close to 1,000,000,000,000,000°S. Molten flowers have been observed growing on the surfaces of some Class X stars, though many of these research groups have been tragically lost in attempting to attain samples.

The molten flower has several main structures:

  1. When the flower is not open, the inner head of the flower is concealed within its outer covering. These two together make the head of the flower.
  2. The stem is much like what you would see in a normal plant, but it channels lava instead of water in its xylem.
  3. The leaves also generate massive amounts of heat while photosynthesizing the lava into nutrients and evaporating the rest.
  4. The roots collect magma from underground flows. When a flow cools and solidifies, other roots are already using other flows.
